In honour of #FemaleFilmmakerFriday, tenthree has announced that Ellie Johnson is not only the first female in history to win Best Editing at the British Arrow Craft Awards, but now also the first ever female winner of Best Editing at Creative Circle too. Ellie was awarded GOLD at both the aforementioned awards over the past two months, for her work on The Department For Education’s heart-warming ‘Every Lesson Shapes A Life’ directed 32 at Pulse Films.
Ellie began her career at Speade, where she built relationships with directors such as Sam Pilling, Joe Connor and Emil Nava and made a name for herself as a hugely creative and widely sought after editor. In early 2018 Ellie joined tenthree, where she continues to tell stories, create memorable commercials and iconic music videos.
To Ellie, filmmaking is an important tool for change, which has the power to increase representation of diverse cultures in the public eye and lead the way for gender equality in the workplace. So as long as she is contributing to those causes and working on projects that go against gender stereotypes and taboos, Ellie is one happy editor.
Well done to tenthree's golden girl! Happy #FemaleFilmmakerFriday
