Oliver will lead the development of a new level of data capability for TBWA

TBWA\Asia has announced the appointment of Oliver Kunze as chief data officer for the region, based out of Singapore.  

Kunze will lead the development of a new level of data capability for TBWA, working closely with local markets to help clients distil data complexity into practical, applicable insights. 

His career includes a number of roles developing data capabilities for some of the world’s most accomplished digital, advertising, direct and media agencies. Kunze joins TBWA from M&C SAATCHI Group in the UK, where he was head of commercial consumer insight at LIDA. Prior to that, he held data leadership positions at BBDO, FCB, Wunderman and Y&R. Across this time he has lead analytics projects for many global brands including Bacardi, Pepsi, Virgin, Jaguar, HP, Carnival and TD Bank. He also spent time as a client working at Volkswagen Group China, where he led regional data strategy and CRM initiatives across ASEAN. 

Kunze brings almost two decades of experience in market research, segmentation, modelling, data strategy, comms planning, measurement, reporting and optimisation – all with the aim of uncovering the most commercially relevant insights and ensuring that marketing is deployed as effectively and efficiently as possible.

The recruitment of Kunze is the latest in a series of heavyweight strategy investments at TBWA\Asia, following Pearman’s recruitment of Steve Walls, CSO of Saatchi/Publicis in Singapore, and Lars Bjorge, head of digital at PHD China.
