TaxAct Selects MullenLowe as Agency of Record

TaxAct, a leading provider of affordable digital and downloadable tax-preparation solutions for individuals, business owners, and tax professionals, has selected MullenLowe U.S., an agency specialised in working with challenger brands, as its new creative agency partner. TaxAct and MullenLowe U.S. are working on a disruptive new brand campaign designed to inspire and engage consumers looking for innovative solutions to simplify the tax-preparation process.

TaxAct selected MullenLowe U.S. as its new creative partner following a competitive agency review that commenced in June, led by Michelle Hagen, chief marketing officer at TaxAct, in consultation with Janet Bustin, founder of Myzyme, a marketing consultancy based in Dallas, Texas. 

“We have big ambitions and growth goals for the TaxAct brand, and we’re excited to have a new agency partner who shares our passion and belief in the power of breakthrough creativity to propel businesses,” said Hagen. “MullenLowe presented an idea that is provocative, is progressive, and aligns with our brand purpose of empowering people in the complex tax-preparation process.”

TaxAct will be working with MullenLowe’s New York–based team, including President Kelly Fredrickson, Managing Director Rebekah Pagis, Executive Creative Directors Dave Weist and Tim Vaccarino, and Head of Strategy Jonny Gadd. The team is working on a multimedia campaign scheduled to launch in early 2020, coinciding with the kickoff of tax-preparation season.
