Tara Holmes Joins Assembly as Vice President of Commercial Services

New York based Post Production studio, Assembly has added another award-winning hire to its growing roster. With the aim of growing the commercial division, Tara Holmes joined Assembly this week as vice president of commercial services, with a focus on servicing the US’ top brands and agencies with Colour Grading, VFX, Beauty, and Finishing work. 

Tara joins from Nice Shoes, where she oversaw commercial services for the past six years. Prior to that, Tara was director of creative services at Company 3, and executive producer of post at Alldayeveryday. Her previous experience in the commercial space includes collaborations with top brands and agencies on Super Bowl work, including Michelob Ultra, starring Jimmy Falon for FCB Chicago, Avocados from Mexico starring Molly Ringwald for Energy BBDO, Snickers’ iconic spot starring Betty White for BBDO, Planters starring Ken Jeong and Joel McHale for Vayner Media, and Hologic starring Mary J. Blige for Chi Creative.

In addition to producing notable award-winning work - Tara has a penchant for creative problem solving, and has overseen challenging technical projects from live colour grading for the Express fashion show Times Square takeover, to spearheading an overnight pivot to work from home for an entire creative studio. 

On joining the Assembly team, Tara comments: “I am excited to join Assembly and be a part of really growing an amazing roster of talent. Coming from past roles where I often had to wear many hats, it is refreshing to join this team where talent is one of the key focus’ of the studio (from artist, to production, engineering, to management) and I look forward to honing in on the strengths of each player on the team. I have always loved not only finding new, up and coming talent but working with exciting talent and strategising how to grow and mould a career. It's amazing to see how even the most established talent responds to someone taking an active role in growing them beyond what they have already achieved.”

She continues: “I also equally love working with clients and building the relationships into true partnerships where they feel coming to work with us is an extension of themselves. It makes the collaboration easier and therefore I feel allows for the creativity to be elevated. If our clients know they have someone they can trust to handle every aspect with the utmost quality and care it allows that much more time to focus on the creative development of the piece.”

Launched in 2021, Assembly was founded by Media executives Art Williams and Oliver Hicks as a hybrid cloud and location-based series of studios offering VFX, Color Grading and Dailies to the Advertising, Film and Television industries. 

The studio’s recent work includes Zaxby’s first Super Bowl commercial ‘Guy on a Buffalo Wing’ and Google Pixel’s latest campaign for their Real Tone technology.
