DDB Sydney chief creative officer, Tara Ford, has been named Creative Person of the Year at the Campaign Asia Awards for 2020 for Australia and New Zealand. The award recognises creative leaders who have produced awarded and effective work and who have set the standard for creative excellence and raised the bar for the entire industry.
With DDB Sydney since 2017, Tara was instrumental in the agency being named Campaign Brief's Agency of the Year in 2018 for the first time in a decade. During her tenure, she has consistently been the #1 ranked CCO on Bestads, been a sought-after industry speaker and mentor and become a board member of the Advertising Council of Australia.
This year, Tara was one of only four Australians named in the Creativepool's Global Top 100 Creative Influencer list and also the only creative to be ranked in B&T's Women in Media Power list.
Tara, CCO, DDB Sydney, said: "I'm thrilled, but really no one wins an award like this without talented people all around them. It would not be possible without all the brilliant people at DDB Sydney, and of course, beyond that, amazing clients with a shared vision who make it all a reality."
DDB group CEO, Andrew Little, added: "As a network that bears Bill Bernbach's name and believes that creativity is the most powerful force in business, it's critical to have leaders who constantly champion, provoke and expand creativity in all of its forms, potential and impact. Tara's career is best characterised as doing just that. Under her creative leadership over the last three years, DDB Sydney has seen a resurgence in business-impacting, award-winning work and high-calibre creative recruiting. She is a powerful asset to our agency."
Tara was named chief creative officer in 2019 in recognition of the success she has driven for the agency, leading a team of 35 creatives across some of Australia's biggest brands and inspiring a business of more than 270 with her commitment to creativity.
