Campaign from Pulse Films celebrates the relentless work of the TalkTalk technicians who make it possible to stay connected
The latest spot from director Nez for ITV’s ‘Get Britain Talking’ campaign is a TVC part of an ongoing campaign from ITV and Uncommon, surrounding mental health and encouraging everybody to talk to one another about issues or worries. The film reminds us to do so now more than ever, given that a vast majority of people are isolated from their friends and family.

Aired on Saturday 23rd May during the Britain’s Got Talent ad break, it highlights the importance of staying in touch during the lockdown period and celebrates the ongoing and amazing work of the TalkTalk technicians who make this possible by keeping the entire nation connected.

The spot was created in the hope to show first-hand all the unseen but essential work that key workers are doing to keep people connected to family and friends during the lockdown. It was a tricky production due to Covid-19 restrictions. No permits were being granted at the time, meaning the team had to find private land - for example football pitches and car parks - to fly the drone whilst trying to create a sense of moving forward through the country. The production team were not allowed in people’s homes so instead they casted from the windows of the properties eventually shot, completing it all with two days preparation for one and half days' shoot, and one day to edit so it could air on TV the following Saturday.

The team at Pulse Films said: "So much of our experience of lockdown has firmly been within the four walls of our homes. With this viewpoint from up high, our visuals attempted to transform the narrative into a unique, sensory experience whilst still highlighting the front-line work of our engineers and TalkTalk’s operators."
