Today, production veterans Justin Diener, Rich Lee, Duke DuQuesnay, Geoff Knight, Christopher Pobst and Aaron Gordon announce the launch of a brand new virtual production company – Synapse Virtual Production. Looking to add something new to the virtual production offerings on the market, Synapse will provide what the team are calling a ‘holistic’ virtual production set of solutions for clients in feature film, episodic, commercials, music videos, and tech space.

Unlike some other offerings in the virtual production space, Synapse is founded by award-winning veterans across their respective fields; coming together to create the tools and culture they’ve found missing from other operations.  With a leadership team experienced in both the creative and technical, Synapse is offering a complete ecosystem rather than pushing a product.

The spectrum of services includes custom studio build outs, consulting, procurement, production, pre + post production: VFX and VAD. That is where Synapse’s team comes in, whose skills converge at the perfect intersection for virtual production. Justin Diener takes the helm as chief executive office, Rich Lee as chief creative officer, Duke DuQuesnay as chief revenue officer, Geoff Knight as chief technical officer, Aaron Gordon as chief operating officer and Christopher Probst as chief innovation officer. Each brings a strong background in live action and post production for global branded content, film & TV, digital media, commercials, music videos, XR, and immersive experiences.

The company has already put the multidisciplinary team to good use, having just launched an ad at this year’s Super Bowl, several campaigns for A-list production company Hungry Man, plus multiple projects featuring some of the globes most sought after musicians. Synapse’s client portfolio also boasts a number of global brands, record labels, the world’s favorite streaming services and some of the industry’s most celebrated creative agencies.

Devoted to the future of filmmaking, innovation, and cultivating talent in the field, Synapse has ensured that education is built into the company’s DNA and is collaborating with prominent universities such as RIT, USC and Texas A&M, as well as prestigious industry institutions like Visual Effects Society, The DGA, and the American Society of Cinematographers.

In addition to servicing clients and shoots in virtual production, the team at Synapse also builds custom LED Volumes. Their newest will be their own permanent virtual production studio, scheduled to open in Los Angeles in spring 2023 and will be available for clients to book.

Speaking on the exciting launch, CEO of Synapse Justin Diener commented: “The technologies that drive virtual production span multiple sectors and applications. It is for this reason that Synapse is more than just a company offering an LED stage. Our team of award-winning professionals have a diverse range of skills and experience across many disparate visual, interactive, live-event and experiential platforms. Such a background enables us to provide a full suite of services, and we are so excited to share our new offering with the industry. With a Super Bowl spot already under our belt and lots of exciting projects on the horizon, we can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store.”
