SXSW Playlist: Old Favourites & New Discoveries from Butter

We have all heard it…SXSW is over. So this year, as I boarded the plane heading to Austin, I could feel the impending letdown slowly brewed by social media. Three days into the festival and it is clear to me, this is not true. Sure, it has become more corporate and the festival is almost nauseatingly massive, there is no doubting that. But at it’s core, it is still about the music. I have seen 14 bands in 72 hours, I have seen favorites and discovered new ones - and I have been out there with thousands of fans who are doing exactly the same thing. For me SXSW is like being a kid in a candy shop. The flashy colors and packaging, the overstimulation, and the gratification of indulging in something you love. The magic for me is still there. My feet are tired, I have had way too much barbecue and my ears are ringing from countless sloppy soundchecks. I am happy. So without further ado, here is a playlist of some pretty great music both admired and discovered at SXSW 2015.

Listen to the playlist below or via this link.
