Swirl Co-CEOs John Berg and Tom Sebastian announce today that industry creative leader Shira Bogart hasjoined the agency as creative director.
Bogart brings almost two decades of experience telling brand stories, most recently as a group creative director at AKQA and prior to that at Chiat/Day, Goldberg Moser O’Nell and Citron Haligman Bedecarre. During her tenure, she was the creative lead on blue chip accounts including Levi’s, Nike, Target, Gap and Old Navy.
An acknowledged industry leader in digital creative, Bogart was selected to be a member of the Facebook Creative Council and was named to Business Insider’s list of “Most Creative Women in Advertising.”
In her new position, Bogart will report to Kevin McCarthy, executive creative director at the agency. “Shira brings the passion of a great storyteller and a unique and diverse set of skills and experience to Swirl” said McCarthy. “She’s also an adept communicator, prototyping experiences with clients rather than just explaining them. We are excited to add such apowerful creative mind to our digital creative team.”
“As we continue our exciting growth, we are looking for the best and the brightest talent across all creative platforms,” added Sebastian, who also serves as Swirl chief creative officer. “We are lucky to have Shira on our team.”
“I’m very excited by the opportunities that exist at Swirl. It’s so rare to find such an inspiring mix of great leadership, talent and an entrepreneurial spirit that complement both its clients and employees,” said Bogart. “Not to mention a culture that makes fun part of the agency values. I look forward to mentoring the team and joining the Swirl family.”
