Directing duo Christian & Patrick have signed with global production company Sweetshop for representation across all markets.
Christian & Patrick create stunning, immersive worlds, moving seamlessly between vast CGI landscapes, intimate emotional stories and perfectly art-directed moments in time. The depth of their technical craft, unrivalled attention to detail and focus on the universal human-element within their work has seen them direct for some of the best known brands and most awarded agencies in the world, and win recognition from shows including the Cannes Lions, D&AD, British Arrows, Ciclope and ADC amongst others.
Meeting at architecture school, the pair began to experiment with animation and filmmaking, and soon began directing music videos for artists like Incubus, FC Kahuna and Bjork, with whom they would form a long-standing relationship, creating a visual language perfectly matched to her ethereal, experimental soundscape. They directed numerous ground-breaking videos for her such as Oceania and the D&AD Pencil-winning Desired Constellation and Unravel; as well as the visuals that featured in her 2004 Olympic Games opening ceremony performance, watched by millions around the world.
Morgan Whitlock, executive producer, Sweetshop UK & Europe said: “I’ve loved Christian & Patrick’s work for a long time; from their experimental, atmospheric early music videos and commercials to their show-stopping Dulux and Thomas Cook work. Their craft and vision are on another level, and I can’t wait to see what’s next from them.”
Christian & Patrick said: “We’re completely thrilled to join Sweetshop. As a company it has incredible reach, with offices around the world, but somehow manages to make it all feel local and intimate. We've been bowled over by its energy and ambition. Sweetshop is making the type of work we love - storytelling with a twist of humour, richly cinematic, creative, quirky stuff. We can't wait to make our first film together.”
Sweetshop Global CEO & Partner Wilf Sweetland added: “Christian and Patrick’s work has long been held up in our industry as some of the finest display of craft and creativity of our generation. We are humbled they have chosen to join Sweetshop for global representation and look forward to continuing this journey together.”
