Global production company Sweetshop has announced the addition of J. Patrick McElroy as executive producer of its US team. Patrick will lead all Sweetshop’s US projects, with production teams based in New York and Los Angeles.
Having worked across a range of organizations that specialize in advertising, film and television, Patrick brings over a decade’s worth of industry experience that spans the full spectrum of creative solutions.
Wilf Sweetland, CEO and partner of Sweetshop said, “I am honoured Patrick has chosen to join Sweetshop. Our growth across North America requires more people of the highest calibre working with us and Patrick is just that. He is highly regarded, creatively driven and very experienced. As executive producer, Patrick will help support our agencies and clients across all US markets. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome him to our team.”
Patrick began his career at pioneering documentarian Albert Maysles’ production company. He later moved to Los Angeles, becoming producer at Spotwelders, where he helped launch the company’s VFX branch, Shipping + Handling. Most recently in 2014, he moved to Radical Media in New York, successfully leading the company’s sales force on the East Coast.
Patrick added, “Sweetshop has a proven track record of producing advertising communication elegantly, without ever forfeiting quality and craft. I am drawn toward storytellers and see that passion and pride in Sweetshop’s directors. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such an established brand across the US and be a part of its continued growth.”
