Recent Motherland signing Hugh Mulhern directs a bleak music video for Fat Pablo

Survivors Endure an Alien Apocalypse in Sombre 'Shambala' Promo

Irish Director Hugh Mulhern once again displays clever writing and emotionally driven character direction in his latest work for alternative psychedelic band Fat Pablo. One of the latest additions to the Motherland roster, Mulhern is currently one of the most promising directors coming out of Ireland.

The video, produced by Motherland and Algorithm, was shot over two cold November days in Wicklow, Ireland. Mulhern’s beautifully crafted story cleverly compliments the bittersweet sounds of Fat Pablo’s ‘Shambala’.

The band explained of their debut single in an interview with Clash Magazine: "We imagined the song as this kind of uplifting orchestral piece and approached it in a different manner to other songs we write. We all played really delicately on the recording and focussed specifically on dynamics, making sure we didn't take away from the soul of the song. You kind of get this bittersweet hope in your bloodstream feeling."

The video premiered on Clash magazine and was later named District Magazines ‘track of the week’ with Nialler9 writing of the video's triumphantly 'noteworthy narrative'.
