Soon, our lives will take place in the Metaverse. From business meetings or dinners with friends to first dates. The big question is: how do you set yourself apart from the others? Well, by buying unique NFTs. Packing your snacks has never been this much fun, because as of today, you can also bring them with you into the online meta world. Subway and Lay's are jointly launching five unique digital 'Crispy Puffer Jacket' NFTs.
Earlier this year, Subway and Lay's released a jacket conceived by Fitzroy Amsterdam and designed in collaboration with Amsterdam-based fashion brand XPLCT Studios. This unique Crispy Puffer Jacket is made of recycled potato chip bags, turning waste into fashion in a unique way. But releasing a 'real' jacket was only the beginning. As of today, five unique NFT versions of the Crispy Puffer Jacket will be released, made by Capitola.Social.
Mischa Schreuder, creative director Fitzroy: “A lot of brands are engaged in NFTs, but if you are going to participate in this world as a brand, you need to be relevant. Consumers want to be able to express themselves in the Metaverse. What they are doing in the real world with fashion labels and outfits, they also want to be able to do online, by showing their digital trainers and clothing. That's why this initiative is spot on. An eye-catching jacket that can get you a lot of attention in the real world, but certainly also in the Metaverse.”
Exclusive NFT for the Food Bank
NFT is the most exciting hype of 2022: works of art, animations and images that only exist digitally. It is an artistic universe that, with one big bang, planted itself alongside the traditional art and fashion world. Following in the footsteps of Nike and Adidas, Subway and Lay's are now venturing into this world, launching five unique 'Crispy Puffer Jacket' NFTs together. One of these NFT jackets was sold during an exclusive Sotheby's auction on 16th February. Garnering a whopping 6000 euros for charity. The proceeds of this NFT will be donated to the Dutch Food Banks. The other four NFT jackets will be available for consumers to win by participating in Subway's social media campaign.
