13CO welcomes Hamish MacGregor to it’s roster of directors. MacGregor’s work pairs real human emotions with engaging and diverse storytelling techniques.
Born and raised in Hobart, Tasmania, MacGregor now based in Melbourne, started as an all-rounder: shooting, directing and editing mini-docs, TVCs and short films – before moving into directing.
This multifaceted experience shows in his work which pairs real, human emotions with engaging and diverse storytelling techniques. Reflecting an introspective nature, his visual style is thoughtful and at times melancholy in design. Combined with a love of bold, Kubrickian visuals, MacGregor’s work is never boring, never stagnant, and always communicating with a distinct point of view.
Says Roy De Giorgio, founder and executive producer, 13CO: “I learnt about Hamish a couple of years ago when we lost a performance based WorkSafe job to him. We’re impressed by his ability to uncover emotion in the everyday and combine daring visual techniques. He interprets stories in a different way, creating a unique tone for every piece of work.”
“I’ve heard the team at 13CO really embrace a directors narrative and challenge the creative process through collaboration. I’m looking forward to the possibilities ahead," MacGregor says.
MacGregor has worked for brands like Puma, Mastercard, Levis, The Australian Open, Bank of Australia and the Victorian Government.
Outside the commercial space, MacGregor has two short films currently in production. Bowerbird, and Signal are due for release in 2022.view more - Hires, Wins & Business13CO, Tue, 22 Mar 2022 08:04:00 GMT
