A post production company 'built for a new generation of media'

Multi-faceted production house Stept Studios announces the launch of their independent post division Lockt Editorial. With a track record producing award-winning work across a multitude of platforms and projects, Stept’s founders are taking their capabilities to even greater heights with the formation of this entity devoted to all manner of post-production. While Lockt lives under the same roof as Stept Studios, it will function as both a part of Stept and as a stand-alone entity, with industry veterans leading the charge.

Stept has long prided itself on creating authentic campaigns and branded content experiences that turn audiences into fans. As Stept grew, their post production team gradually transitioned from simply supporting Stept’s in-house jobs to functioning as an independent, post-only resource for ad agencies, brands, streamers, publishers, and even other production companies. The result is Lockt, offering a full roster of post capabilities including creative editorial, animation, sound design, and VFX.

Native to the post-Covid production environment, Lockt is built for a new generation of media and specialises in finding efficiencies and elevating creative results with their holistic workflow. Scalable for projects both big and small, Lockt’s capabilities are provided by post production experts who move faster, adapt more easily, and deliver better results than ever before across commercials, branded films, and entertainment.

Lockt Editorial’s range of services spans online and offline editing; VFX, including motion graphics, CGI 3D, animation, and product renderings; music supervision, with original composition and licensing capabilities; finishing and delivery, including sound design, mix, and colour; and post facilities outfitted with suites for edit, sound, and colour. Lockt has several high-profile projects already under their belt, including Oakley’s See the Game Differently, Nike’s Stronger Than One Series, Ford Bronco’s Built Wild with Jimmy Chin and Brooke Raboutou, and Columbia’s What Weather?

Lockt is led by partner and award-winning executive producer Connor Scofield. Connor first began collaborating with Stept founders Nick Martini, Cam Riley and Alex Martini when they met as teenagers at a ski camp in Whistler, British Columbia. Remaining friends back home in the States, they began making ski movies together and the rest is history. After a brief stint putting his economics degree to use, Scofield ditched his finance job for a production opportunity with the Legends Football League in Las Vegas. He wore every hat imaginable while creating a full slate of content for the League. He rejoined Stept in 2015 to run their nascent post-production department, overseeing its growth to the present day.

Nick Martini, founder/CEO at Stept Studios and Partner in Lockt, says: “Lockt’s editor roster and network of artists feature best-in-class talent that we are truly proud to represent. They bring a wealth of creativity and inspired management into a world of endless deliverables, licensing, and quality control. We’re happy to make our post studio an official outfit all its own and take things to the next level. And the fact that Connor is running the show? Absolutely perfect.”
