Blinkink’s Stephen McNally teamed up with Jon Hopkins to create this beautifully hypnotic visualiser for Jon’s recent release, 'Music for Psychedelic Therapy’.
Jon said in a statement that his album, which has no beats or drum sounds, grew from a 2018 expedition to Tayos Caves in Ecuador. “Music for Psychedelic Therapy is not ambient, classical or drone but has elements of all three,” he said. “For me it’s a place as much as it is a sound. It works for the sober mind, but takes on a new dimension entirely when brought into a psychedelic ceremony.”
The accompanying visuals couldn't be more well suited; a continues flow of beautifully composed particles brought to life with a mixture of 2D and 3D animation.
Paint like textures meet space like infinity as the viewer is taken on a peaceful journey into the psyche. It’s another brilliant collaboration between Blinkink and Jon Hopkins which has spanned over the past decade and resulted in numerous videos, including ‘Feel First Life’, 'Emerald Life’ and ‘Bubble'.
