Independent agency in Boulder keeps focus on employee well-being
Employees come first at independent Boulder-based creative consultancy Sterling-Rice Group (SRG). This important fact makes its inclusion, on Outside’s prestigious 'Best Places to Work' list for 10-years in a row - something to celebrate.

“This recognition says everything about our culture and how people feel about working here, even during what has been the most extraordinary of times,” noted Cindy Judge, chairman and CEO of SRG. “Every year we take on the challenge of finding new ways to improve and enhance the employee experience and it is very meaningful to us to be on this list.”

SRG’s commitment to providing employees with a great place to work features flexible work arrangements, team-building social events, and a robust wellness program designed to support physical, mental, emotional, and financial health. In response to Covid-19 and working remotely, the agency took many steps to stay relevant and to continue to be a very special place to work.

During the early stages of the pandemic, SRG fielded a series of studies on consumer behaviour in the midst of Covid and created a playbook for the future of restaurants, giving employees opportunities to help its clients manage through the crisis. The agency also initiated weekly meetings for the full company to connect and stay informed on a variety of important matters, including financial performance, client engagement, culture and safety, and work and invention.

As one employee noted in the employee survey: “The agency has done an excellent and commendable job of responding to the crisis quickly, effectively and with empathy. I feel grateful to be a part of this family. In a time when there is a lot of uncertainty, SRG has provided structure and an outlet away from the news and given me purpose and motivation to further the work. We embody the national rallying cry that ‘We are all in this together.’"

Each year, companies from across the country engage in a rigorous two-part survey process to make the winning list. The top 50 companies are those that value productivity in combination with an active, eco-conscious lifestyle, for a fulfilling experience inside and outside the office.

“We are deeply committed to a humanistic approach and work environment that supports our employees ability to successfully integrate all parts of their lives; setting them up for optimal success,” said Amy Krill, managing director of HR for SRG. “The passion, creativity, and drive of our people and the team’s feeling of connectedness is what makes SRG’s award-winning culture. We are truly grateful to be recognised.”
