Spotlight On: Justine Barker
Justine Barker is an award-winning composer with a diverse yet distinctive style. In the last four years, she has scored over 200 hours of drama for BBC One including the iconic BAFTA winner Casualty, gripping crime drama London Kills, and brand new Northern Irish drama Hope Street. Also known for her work on critically acclaimed series Suspects, Holby City and Sirens, she has balanced TV credits with a varied film career including work for award-winning directors Christiana Ebohon-Green, Piotr Szkopiak and Jake Graf.
Justine won Best Composer at Underwire Film Festival 2016 and was a mentor on the 2020 Ivors Academy mentoring programme. This year Justine is a mentor on the Women in Film and TV scheme. In addition to her media work, she writes and produces lyrical songs and instrumental tracks for music production libraries and produced 50 tracks for 5 seasons of BBC1's Outnumbered.
