Introducing the new, re-imagined SouthernComfort.com, a platform for our drinkers to show us, and the world, how they like to drink their Southern Comfort. It’s an open source website, where anyone with a computer, tablet or smartphone can create a drink and share it with their friends, just the way they like it.
Drinkers go to the site to make their own drinks, get recipes from other drinkers, and even learn about Southern Comfort’s history. Drinks are customized from start to finish. Pick a container (options are plenty, including a trophy, a highball, a champagne flute, or even a take-out box. And many more). Then fill it up with your chosen ingredients – a mouthful of Southern Comfort, a splash of lime juice, cherry cola, etc. – add a garnish, name your drink, and share. Your custom drink recipe will then live forever on the site for everyone to enjoy.
In every nook and cranny of the site the spirit of Whatever’s Comfortable is present. Even the 404 page shares the tonality of the brand.
As the Whatever’s Comfortable campaign continues, the open source spirit will influence other pieces of the campaign. For example, drinks featured in any upcoming TV spots might be pulled from the site.
SouthernComfort.com is a platform meant to engage our drinkers for the long-haul. It’s structure and premise allows for future activations and promotions meant to continue to engage our drinkers with the brand. We plan to have a lot of fun with it.
To help introduce our new website to the world, we invite you to Go Drink Yourself. Make a delicious drink recipe of your own on SouthernComfort.com, enter it into the Go Drink Yourself contest, and then share it with everyone you know to get as many MMM’s as possible. Winners will be chosen from the best of the best drinks. And winners win a hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind mug featuring their face. 10 lucky Southern Comfort drinkers will win a mug. The Contest launches on 4/2, closes for entries on 5/7. Winners will be notified 5/21.
Wieden+Kennedy New York, Southern Comfort's agency of record, is responsible for creating this work.
