Soup, glorious soup! After the party pooping pandemic put a stop to London’s annual ad industry soup making competition, the Soup Off is back! On December 7th, the most competitive soup cooks in the business will be sharing their entries and reigniting the age old debate about the fine line between a soup and a stew.

The year off has clearly had an impact on the organisers - this year’s launch film reveals that regular host Kevin Smudger Smith has developed a delirious oxtail obsession. These launch films have become as much a part of the competitions’s tradition as the overmarking of mushroom based soups. This year, the film was written and directed by Mickey Brooks, with Prakash Nathan as DoP, Alrx Wesley on Boom, post and animation from Alumina Studios and grade and sound design from Tag Collective Arts. The cast also includes plenty of familiar faces - Mickey Brooks, Perry, Ian Ball, Kevin Smith, Mike McKenna, Nicky Russell and an adorable return from Tilly Brooks.
This year, the Soup Off will be raising money for the Alexandra Murphy HHT Foundation, which aims to support individuals and families affected by the rare genetic condition Hereditary Haemorrhagic Telangiectasia and to raise funds for treatment and research. You can donate

The Soup Off will take place at 1pm, Tuesday 7th December, at the Duke of York on 47 Rathbone Street.
