Soundtree had the pleasure working across a wonderful array of campaigns this year, so it was a joy to end on a seasonal high with a round-up of the Christmas campaigns coming out of the studios and onto your screens. Fortunate too, to have been able to record a stellar line-up of musicians in beautiful spaces, create a cardboard box choir and lastly work with the unique voice of Alison Moyet.
With an unapologetically romantic score, our first spot is a charming story featuring Martin Freeman. Vodafone, 'Love On the Platform', directed by Jeff Low at Biscuit tells of a chance encounter on a wintry platform. Will love blossom between the two strangers living miles apart?
Our second instalment is a timely delivery courtesy of Somesuch's director Nick Gordon and a choir of singing cardboard boxes travelling around the world, bringing their smiles to the faces of their recipients. Amazon, 'Give' for Lucky Generals features our arrangement of Roger Hodgson's classic 'Give a Little Bit'.
Finally, some sibling love to round-up up our seasonal trio. Boots 'Show Them You Know Them' brings flashbacks of sisters' lives together from childhood to present day and the gift of giving a meaningful present to those you love. Luis Almau created a new arrangement of Yazoo's 'Only You' using Alison Moyet's original vocals and a 30-piece string section, recorded at Angel Studios and mixed at Soundtree's Studios in Shoreditch. Approved by Ms Moyet herself, the full-length track has been released in time for Christmas.
From us all at Soundtree - wishing you all - a safe and happy Christmas.
