With Be An Outsider in market for a couple of years now, it was important for L.L.Bean to focus a little more on romancing the products. The VIA Agency were able to really show the craftsmanship and the art of this product for the first time through CGI. These slippers are such an iconic, go-to L.L.Bean gift at the holidays that it was a no brainer to feature in the ad, but the agency also wanted to tell an emotional story about the role that the slippers play in your life. People really can and do dash outdoors in the snow in these slippers, so it feels very real to have mumm do that to see the house’s holiday lights being lit for the first time.
The whole construct is focused on how L.L.Bean products help you to Be An Outsider by enabling these moments of shared joy, it’s just that slippers do that in a way that’s maybe not as obvious as a down jacket or gloves. And Lady Bri’s music brings so much life and energy to that holiday excitement, though it’s not specifically a holiday track.
