Working with RPM, Sky Sports and ECB enter the second year of Dynamos Cricket Intros

Working with Sky Sports, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Lambeth Council, creative agency RPM have renovated a local playground on Mawbey Brough Estate and install a permanent Dynamos Cricket wicket, supporting the Dynamos Cricket Intros initiative.

Sky Sports and ECB are entering the second year of Dynamos Cricket Intros - a multi-year initiative hosting free multi week courses and distributing free kits in schools and community centres across  the UK. The scheme is also helping train 500 new coaches from different communities.

The aim of this pilot project in Lambeth is to bring communities together by creating a new colourful cricketing space to play cricket whenever they want. The newly renovated playground features a vibrant design from Global Street Artists and permanent wickets for the community to use for years to come.

Jack Eatherley, participation lead at Sky Sports, said, “Dynamos Cricket Intros is a scheme we designed with the ECB to address barriers that might stop children getting into the sport. As we enter the second year of this initiative, we are delighted to be working with Lambeth Council on this pilot project, designed and produced with RPM and can’t wait to see this first playground be enjoyed by  everyone.”

Managing director, Dom Robertson says, “Bringing this new Dynamos Cricket wicket to Mawbey  Borough Estate is so exciting for all involved. The Dynamos Cricket Intros initiative aims to reduce barriers to cricket participation, and access to space to play is one of those barriers. We hope this installation brings new children to the game and becomes part of the community here in Lambeth.”
