SIREN’s new podcast is a space for women in the music industry to share their music and their experiences

SIREN has launched its brand-new podcast, 'Equalised Sound', where it brings together women from all areas of the music industry in open, honest, round-table conversations to talk about their careers, their music, and their experiences. Whoever you are and wherever you are in the industry - composer, producer, artist, engineer, supervisor, DJ, musician – Equalised Sound is a space for us to come together, share experiences, and help move towards gender parity in the industry.

Today, SIREN launches with episode one, which is bought to you in collaboration with the Alliance for Women Film Composers. Join hosts Siân Rogers (company director and music supervisor at SIREN) and Jenna Fentimen (head of creative at Manners McDade, AWFC board) as they discuss how we define ourselves throughout our careers. Careers in music are rarely linear, but as a society that loves to label and define, how can we explore the true extent of our capabilities and creativity if we never step out of the first box we are put in. What do we need to do to allow ourselves, and each other, the space for learning and growth into other areas, skills, or disciplines?

For this conversation, Siân and Jenna are joined by three talented women, whose incredible careers are shining examples of just how important it is to step out of your comfort zone and own whatever world you step in to. They are: TAWIAH (artist, singer, songwriter, film and TV composer), Hannah Vasanth (producer, songwriter and musician) and Daisy Coole (composer, saxophonist, AWFC board).

SIREN hope this incredibly inspiring conversation reassures anyone in music, or anyone looking to get into music, that going down one path won’t preclude you from doing down another later.
