Singapore Press Holdings, Singapore’s largest publisher, and Outbrain, the world’s largest content discovery platform, announced the details of a multi-year strategic partnership that will see the media company enhance its digital strategy by deploying the full suite of Outbrain’s Engage solutions, to deliver relevant content to audiences across its wide portfolio of digital publications.
The agreement will enable SPH and its properties, including AsiaOne, The Straits Times, The Business Times, The New Paper, Stomp and Lollipop, to fully leverage the Outbrain Engage platform by utilising tools that marry editorial decision-making with predictive analytics and algorithmically generated content recommendations. This solution will allow better engagement and monetisation through Outbrain Engage*, along with deep data integration through their Outbrain Visual Revenue platform.
Over the past years, SPH has been at the forefront of global digital publishing innovation, and this partnership is proof of its commitment to continue on this path. SPH joins other leading global publishers like ESPN, Time Inc and Le Monde, who have recently signed multi-year deals with Outbrain.
Tan Su-Lin, deputy head, digital division at Singapore Press Holdings, said: “For SPH, investing in technology and innovation has always been a priority in our digital strategy and delivering the right experience. Outbrain’s focus on audience engagement and data analytics was a key factor in our decision to partner with the company. Through this partnership, we are confident that Outbrain will help us drive increased audience engagement, provide key insights and analytics about our core digital users, while at the same time maximise the monetisation of our audience through a native experience.”
The culmination of seven years of innovation on behalf of its partners, Outbrain has recently broadened its technology into a multifaceted platform to pioneer a new era of digital publishing. The Outbrain Engage solution empowers the entire media organisation to guide personalisation of content to every user.
Anthony Hearne (pictured), regional director, South-East Asia, India and New Markets at Outbrain, said: "We are delighted to announce our partnership with SPH and together we will continue to drive digital publishing innovation in the region. Outbrain began as a recommendation product, however we have continued to listen to industry needs, iterate on our offering and constantly innovate. We have now evolved into a guided personalisation platform that serves multiple publisher stakeholders, affords our partners with the flexibility to embrace digital opportunities and continues to deliver what audiences crave.”
