GJP Announces Two Industry Giants to Propel Agency Forward

Gee Jeffery & Partners hire two of the industry’s top talent

In a strategic move that changes the direction of Gee Jeffery & Partners (GJP), the agency today announced two new Partners, industry heavyweights, Andrew Simon and Matthew Stern.

“Andrew and Matthew’s addition signifies a future of great growth and leadership,” says GJP Chairman, Alan Gee.  “We are enhancing our intellectual capital.  Andrew is one of the top creative minds in North America. His ideas transcend traditional ‘advertising’ solutions.  Matthew is a key player in the industry. His global experience and strong knowledge of managing a creative business make him an invaluable member of our team.  Together with the existing GJP team, we have established a superior class of talent.”

Simon and Stern both represent fresh insight and strategic innovation in an industry struggling with rapid change.  Simon, previously DDB Canada’s critically acclaimed Creative Director, joins GJP as the new Chief Creative Officer.  Simon anticipates the opportunity to take the GJP brand to new heights.  “It is like reinventing something,” Simon explains, “We have the opportunity to not only work with a strong base, but to really create something with it. The future of GJP has no boundaries.”

Matthew Stern, GJP’s new President and a native Torontonian, agrees. “My global experience has allowed me to embrace best practises internationally.  I am now ready to bring those home.” Stern spent 10 years in Executive Management positions with McCann-Erickson Worldgroup, repositioning and directing agencies in New York, Moscow and Prague. “There are three broad themes that will guide us as we refresh our brand to better service clients; interconnectivity, media ubiquity and immediacy, and the fact that consumers are simply expecting more. We will be moulding these principles into GJP, while embracing its inherently creative culture.”

As Stern and Simon join, industry veteran and co-founder, Peter Jeffery will be taking this opportunity to step back.  “Peter will remain on as a trusted ally and advisor of the agency,” Gee states.  “As a Co-Founder of GJP, his mission continues to be to help us transition to the new era.  We intend to tap into his wealth of knowledge and counsel for the foreseeable future.”

With Stern and Simon’s diverse backgrounds, the agency is now well-positioned for a changing communications landscape. They acknowledge that a key to success is to become more nimble, taking advantage of the rapid changes in the industry.  Simon and Stern have both the vision and tenacity to not only redefine GJP, but the industry it lives in.
