The Maverick Group has appointed Simon Derungs as client services director, he will officially be joining the agency on May 9th.

A respected ad world veteran, Simon has built a reputation as a highly skilled strategic and creative leader, transforming the fortunes of major brands and marketing organisations across diverse sectors.

One of those rare professionals with experience on both sides of the marketing/agency fence, Simon brings unique insight to the creative table as well as priceless experience. In a remarkable career, he has excelled with industry behemoths including McCann, Publicis and M&C Saatchi, playing a pivotal role in creating some of the UK’s most memorable and commercially effective campaigns for the likes of McVitie’s and British Army Recruiting. Meanwhile, a stint at BT as head of marketing communications – launching the new BT Sport channels in direct competition with Sky – has resulted in impeccable client-side credentials.

More recently, Simon has worked as a consultant for Oystercatchers and Econsultancy, supporting marketing leaders, but had returned to a head of client services role for YOU Agency before joining The Maverick Group.

Carron Edmonds, The Maverick Group co-founder and chairwoman, said: “We’re thrilled to have Simon on board and excited about the future. He brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role. As acting interim CSD, I’m very happy to hand it over to him!”

Simon added: “I’m truly excited to be joining The Maverick Group family; it’s a brilliant agency  with talented people and ambitious clients. My aim is to help bring out the best in the agency and build on its success in client service - from delivering breakthrough creative to fuelling business growth.”
