Sibling Rivalry Signs Award-Winning Director/Photographer Kristyna Archer

Sibling Rivalry continues to solidify its robust roster of directing talent by signing on versatile, award-winning director Kristyna Archer.

With a storied background in both directing and photography and an aesthetic that’s colourful and offbeat yet instantly inviting, Archer brings a unique perspective to Sibling Rivalry – not just for her visual flair but strong, female point of view. "Working with Sibling is an exciting opportunity for me to grow in film and storytelling, opportunities that I know I would bring a fresh spin to,” she says. “We have enough ‘dude’ humour out there. I am interested in a quirky, absurd, stylised point of view from a female perspective to make you laugh and be entertained.”

Throughout her career, Archer has showcased her distinct ability to amuse, entertain and inspire for a wide range of clients including Nike, Honda, Canon, Boost Mobile, Patron, Hershey’s, and Mommy Bahama with 72andSunny, the latter of which she considers a career highlight as it “shifts collective thinking, makes cultural waves and disrupts societal old school stereotypes".

Whether she’s working on vibrant commercials, PSAs, photography or motion graphics-infused content, the new Sibling Rivalry director is always driven by creating visually compelling worlds and developing characters that are inspired by her dual artistic endeavours. “My background in photography informs my very visual perspective, which inherently lends itself to a colourful, bold aesthetic,” Archer adds. “A vision based in the endless possibilities of VFX, transition, and animations that are so tasteful, seamless, and refined.”

Now as part of Sibling Rivalry’s roster, Archer has joined an ideal production company in which to hone her directing craft and one that she quickly found kinship with. “After meeting with Sibling, I felt their passion and excitement for my work and all the possibilities, and we had shared vision for my niche,” she says. “They are unique in that they have this go-getter mentality, and their company model has a solid in-house post-production team. I trust Sibling because I know they’re invested in my growth and my future as a director. All the stars aligned and signs were pointing to this being the right decision for me.”
