Shukri Toefy, co-founder of FORT, will now serve as chairman of the South African based production company that he started with film director, Amr Singh in 2007. An opportunity that he believes will allow him to anchor more of his attention and expertise on the strategic path of a company that has produced globally award winning work.
FORT will continue to be led by co-founder and director, Amr Singh and executive producer, Craig February who will oversee the running of the company’s Johannesburg and Cape Town offices.
“Following a step back from the daily operational running of the company, Shukri will now focus on FORT’s path towards global growth in film, entertainment and commercials” said Craig February.
Having been vocal about its ambition to propel directors onto the international stage, Fort credits its success to their ability to attract talented creators who are aligned with its mission.
“We are excited to finally re-ignite and execute this growth strategy after the mandatory pause brought on by the challenging period over the last two years” says director, Amr Singh. “We look forward to Shukri’s full support in his role as chairman while Craig and I lead both the company and roster of talent.”
Amr went on to describe how this is an organic step towards realising an ambition conceived three-years ago for the purpose of spearheading the company’s global expansion.
“Our ambition is clear; to establish FORT as a Top 10 global film and commercials production company”, concluded Shukri.
Shukri Toefy will also use this period to direct more focus towards the expansion of his investment company, Southfields.view more - Hires, Wins & BusinessFORT, Mon, 01 Aug 2022 08:00:29 GMT
