Jessica Ringshall, Ashley Milhollin, Carol Cooper, Tahmon Agbaje and Shane Duncan make up the judging pane

Shiny and Saatchi & Saatchi have today announced the judging panel for the Spring 2023 Shiny Awards, which will take place on Thursday 23rd March at Saatchi & Saatchi’s offices on Chancery Lane.

The judging panel will be made up of Jessica Ringshall, CPO at Saatchi & Saatchi; Ashley Milhollin, creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi; Carol Cooper, features editor, shots; Rahmon Agbaje, co-founder of Loud Parade; and Shane Duncan, head of video, GUAP, and represents an influential mix of creatives and producers across agency and media brands. The judges will announce five winners from the shortlist - which remains open until 14th March - at the event, and showcase their work live.

The Shiny Awards are widely respected in the industry for applying quotas to its shortlists. At least 70% of the shortlisted work comes from underrepresented directors, according to class, ethnicity, gender, disability and sexual orientation. Judging is conducted in anonymous conditions to ensure meritocracy at every stage.

Caroline Bottomley, MD, Shiny, says, “At Shiny, we believe shortlist quotas are key in addressing inequality. Too many awards are overwhelmingly dominated by mainstream directors, which not only excludes important storytellers but also the different stories they bring with them.”

Jessica Ringshall, CPO, Saatchi & Saatchi, adds, “We’re long standing fans of Shiny here at Saatchi & Saatchi, and are excited to welcome the Awards to Saatchi HQ. Like Shiny, we are passionate about offering diverse and emerging talent a meaningful route into the industry. We’ve championed new creators for 33 years through our New Creators’ Showcase, and now are turning our attention to how we take this further. It’s about hiring new talent, and we welcome opportunities like the Shiny Awards to get young creators in front of the right audiences to facilitate this.”

Shiny work with a wide range of industry judges who view every entry and decide on the shortlist. The creatives, heads of production, representatives, executive producers, producers, post producers, trade and productions services talent are drawn from the pool of Shiny’s pro members and include:
