Shift Post Welcomes Musician Darren Foreman to Bolster Post Production Offering

Leading London-based edit house, Shift Post, is thrilled to welcome long-time collaborator and friend Darren Foreman, AKA Beardyman, to the team. Darren will provide Shift clients with bespoke music commissions and consultations for commercials.

Captivated by the sounds around him since childhood, Darren began his musical journey by composing a symphony for his school orchestra at the age of nine. Throughout his illustrious career in live improvised music production, he has since undertaken a multitude of unconventional and exciting projects. Notably, he composed the entire soundtrack for Netflix series ‘The Characters’ while touring, creating a fresh hour of music each night based on audience suggestions.

His diverse portfolio includes music for commercials with global brands, as well as performing at The BBC Proms, being a featured vocalist on global hit, ‘Eat Sleep Rave Repeat’, and playing the main stages of every major music festival.

An accomplished composer, Darren thrives in the unpredictable world of advertising, skilfully producing diverse musical options to align the visions of the creative team, producer, director, and client. He brings a unique perspective to the table, backed by a deep understanding of music history and an appreciation for genres, seeing each one as a cultural story representing personal therapy and social cohesion in distinct communities.

Inspired by the meticulously orchestrated compositions of early Warner Brothers cartoons as well as the concept of the anti-score pioneered by Quentin Tarantino, Darren thrives in placing the most unexpected music to scenes. Collaborating with industry giants like Jack Black, Tim Minchin, Labyrinth, David Guetta, and Norman Cook to name a few, Darren finds excitement in tackling new briefs and rapidly bringing captivating soundscapes to life.

Darren is currently working on an orchestral electronic project with composer Rob Lewis, and a ground-breaking, interactive, immersive audio project with d&b audiotechnik for exhibition at London's science museum.
