Shell Drives Mobility Innovation Through Vehicle Connectivity

Shell has announced that it will join with General Motors (GM) to provide drivers of eligible GM vehicles a world-class driving experience. With the largest fuel station network in the US, more than 14,000 stations, and with a passion and commitment to innovation, the ‘Shell experience’ within the Marketplace will ensure our customers can connect to Shell throughout their days journey.

Announced December 5, 2017, the Marketplace is a new, smart commerce platform that gives drivers the opportunity to safely interact with some of their favourite brands in the car. Via the Marketplace, Shell will enable an exceptional driver experience by providing easy access to nearby Shell locations, savings with the Fuel Rewards program, and digital payment so customers are back on the road in no time.

Shell will provide ease of payment and savings with INSTANT GOLD STATUS in the Fuel Rewards program, take consumers to their closest Shell station and showcase station amenities at the largest fuel station network in the US. In 2018, Shell will also offer drivers the opportunity to utilise in-dash, mobile payment options from their vehicles through GM Marketplace.

The ‘Shell experience’ strives to make customers lives easier and journeys better. This means meeting their evolving needs through tailored products and services. Shell is participating in Marketplace to deliver the products and services that modern consumers need to make life’s journeys better. We are working to provide customers access to fast and flexible mobile payment and loyalty benefits, all through connected car technology.
