Schuman Cheese Selects Walrus as Lead Agency for Vevan Brand

Schuman Cheese, the multi-generational cheese company and one of the largest US importers of Italian cheeses, has tapped NY creative and media agency, Walrus, to launch its new plant-based cheese brand, Vevan, set to hit shelves in June. Walrus was selected to handle the brand’s first ad campaign which will launch this summer. Media duties will be handled in-house by Schuman, with consultation from Walrus.

An artisanal, plant-based product, Vevan has been crafted to have the same creamy texture and flavor as real cheese, and it comes in three distinct flavors. There’s Ched, which has a sharp flavor perfect for classics like tacos and casseroles; Mozza, which has a mild flavour to make savoury dishes like pizza and pasta richer and creamier; and P’Jack, which has a peppery heat perfect for Mexican-inspired dishes.  

With plant-based diets growing fast, and the non-dairy cheese market alone expected to reach $3.52 billion by 2023, Vevan will look to target the vegan and flexitarian population through its advertising using paid digital, social and on-premise activation. Most commonly regarded for its artisanal and imported Italian cheeses, this is Schuman’s first foray into the vegan cheese market.
