Director Ben Saunders has recently made the move to Exit Films and is settling into the Melbourne office nicely. He brings with him a sharp sense of humour, a photographer’s eye for detail and a truckload of talent. Hitting the ground running, he’s already landed a massive new campaign that will be on our screens in the next few months.
His impressive catalogue of work is a mixture of TVCs for brands like the AFL, Canon and Lipton and music videos for some of Australia’s top bands. He’s made bird-men for Birds of Tokyo, fish suits for Augie March and face masks for Eskimo Joe. He scored an ARIA for the Eskimo Joe clip and when you watch it, you can see why. He’s the man behind the memorable VB Symphony and his current spot works as part advertisement, part art installation – taking the big in BigM to a whole new level. And if that wasn’t enough, he’s also a really nice guy.
So an extremely excited Exit welcomes Ben and his imaginary friend, Donald the very, very tall snail. It’s said that Donald is in fact the brains of the operation – only time will tell.
