ArtClass writer and director, Ryan Ebner brings his classic dry comedy to the spot for the men's grooming brand

Award-winning writer and director Ryan Ebner of ArtClass, a full-service next-gen post and production company, has just brought his most recent work to fruition in the form of a commercial spot for men’s grooming company, MANSCAPED. Ryan, who is well-known for his pinpointed casting as well as his dry comedy chops made the ideal choice for this tongue-in-cheek spot. Bolstered by Ryan’s directorial expertise and vision, Pete Davidson brought his unique comedic flavour to the MANSCAPED spot. Melding the comedic timing of Ryan’s work with Pete’s natural charisma that connects with all audiences, the collaboration yielded a perfect piece. 

In the spot, Pete is seen celebrating the holidays with his mom, finding his last gift from Santa to be a MANSCAPED package. The wholesome holiday moment doesn’t last long as it’s revealed that Santa may have taken the shaver for a spin, with rather suspicious evidence being left behind. The crude comedy fits perfectly with the brand’s established voice, and Ryan's creative vision, paired with Pete’s iconic delivery, results in one of the most memorable spots of the holiday season. 

Ryan, who has previously worked at companies including Butler, Shine & Stern, Wieden + Kennedy, Chiat/Day, BBH, BBDO and 180, continuously brings innovative and cutting-edge ideas to the forefront of his directorial efforts. Ryan employs an unconventional approach with each of his projects and his background as a creative director gives him an edge in the world of advertising. He has applied his writing acumen to a number of advertisements, and this skill set also empowers him to be a great team-player.
