Samsung Taps Kenzo Digital for Mind-bending 'Social Galaxy' Installation

Samsung Electronics America recently opened doors to Samsung 837, its new experiential flagship space in NYC’s Meatpacking District. Uniquely, Samsung 837 is not a traditional store. For example, you can't make any purchases there. But it's designed as a space for consumers to explore technology through interactive, immersive installations, unique programming, events and product discovery.

To support the launch, Samsung commissioned immersive storytelling agency Kenzo Digital, directed by creative director/director and artist of the same name - and creative technologist Lucas Werthein-- to create a unique point of engagement for guests inside the space. The result is 'Social Galaxy,' a mind-bending exhibit that utilizes over 300 Samsung screens to showcase Instagram content; capturing the past, mirroring the present, and bringing a new perspective to who we are as individuals and social beings.

Social Galaxy is an interactive art installation in a two-part experience. First, an infinitely reflected tunnel filled with the personal Instagram content of each participant; secondly, a three-story tall LED screen that ultimately connects guests to the entire 837 community through personal portraits of each participant.
