Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness, the industry leader in the emerging area of marketing consumer wellness, announced today that it has appointed digital expert Hensley Evans as Executive Vice President, Director of Analytics & Digital Strategy. In her new role, Evans will bring more than 20 years of experience across industries to enhance the agency’s ability to leverage data analytics and digital strategy to help clients better connect with consumers around wellness.
“Hensley is a trailblazer. She was an analytics and digital expert long before the marketing industry fully recognized the potential of these disciplines,” said Ned Russell, Group Managing Director, Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness and Saatchi & Saatchi Health. “Given that a significant portion of our business is pure digital, finding the right person to lead this area was critical – Hensley is it.”
Evans, who will serve on the management teams of both Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness and Saatchi & Saatchi Health, is recognized across the industry for her expertise in analytics, as well as digital, social and mobile strategy. Over the course of her career, she has served a number of the world’s most esteemed healthcare companies including, Eli Lilly, Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).
Evans comes to Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness from marketing and advertising agency imc2, where she helped establish a vision for agency evolution, and grew the pharmaceutical practice from a $3 million unit located in one metro area, to a national practice of approximately $30 million in annual revenue. She joined imc2 in 2004 as Senior Vice President of Strategy, was promoted to President of imc2’s Health and Wellness division in 2009, and was named Chief Strategy Officer in 2011.
“Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness is the leader in consumer wellness marketing, and they are constantly innovating their offerings to better serve their clients in this exciting area,” said Evans. “I’m thrilled to bring my experience to expand analytics and digital strategy to help promote healthier and happier lifestyles, a concept that is increasingly important to people.”
Previously, Evans served as Chief Executive Officer of The Ornish Spectrum, a California-based startup digital platform with a mission of bringing groundbreaking research in preventative care to a wider audience. She also spent four years at interactive marketing agency Harte-Hanks, where she developed and implemented a strategic and analytics practice and was ultimately named President of the division.
Russell added, “We believe that data is the new creative tool. This hire demonstrates our commitment to offering best-in-class analytics and digital strategies, which will ultimately help our clients better understand and engage wellness-minded consumers through meaningful experiences.”
Evans began her career as a consultant, first with Price Waterhouse and then with Anderson Consulting, both in strategic roles.
Evans serves in leadership positions on the boards of the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF), the Women’s Studio Workshop and the Wallkill Valley Land Trust. She is a graduate of Duke University and received a MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
