Saatchi & Saatchi has promoted Franki Goodwin to chief creative officer, completing the company’s new leadership squad assembled by CEO Chris Kay.

Award-winning creative and filmmaker Franki joined Saatchi & Saatchi almost a decade ago and has been behind much of the company’s most notable work for clients including Direct Line and Deutsche Telekom. Guillermo Vega is leaving Saatchi & Saatchi to relocate back to the US.

Her appointment completes a supercharged Saatchi & Saatchi leadership squad assembled by chief executive officer Chris Kay, alongside chief strategy officer Richard Huntingdon, managing director Sarah Jenkins and chief production officer Jess Ringshall, who joined the company last month.

Alongside her role at Saatchi & Saatchi, Franki is executive producer at Western Edge Pictures, a multi award-winning independent production company she co-founded in 2010. The BAFTA-winning studio has been behind numerous acclaimed productions including the recent ‘Gazza’ documentary for the BBC which launched in April to rave reviews, the feature documentary ‘Pistorious’ and ‘Rare Beasts’, directed by Billie Piper.

Previously, Franki founded and ran a boutique film marketing consultancy, 'Franki&Jonny', whose clients included Pathé, Warner Bros and Curzon Cinemas. A graduate of Glasgow School of Art, she has returned regularly as a guest lecturer and spent time teaching at Parsons School of Design in Paris.

Chris Kay, chief executive officer of Saatchi & Saatchi and Publicis Groupe UK creative practice, said, “Franki is a true modern creator and will be the creative instigator we need to help Saatchi to deliver on our mission to be the most influential creative company in modern Britain. She has a BAFTA-winning side hustle, a truly eclectic creative background, and a clear energising vision of what this great creative company can be.

On behalf of our company and client partners I’d like to thank Guillermo who has been a big part of this company for the past four years. He has been part of the team that has delivered standout work for our partners across the board and we wish him all the best with his move back to the US.”

Franki Goodwin said, “Shaping the creative future of Saatchi & Saatchi as CCO is an extraordinary opportunity. I’m determined to nurture all the brilliant talent we already have and all the new faces we will bring in to build something optimistic, influential and fiercely entertaining.”

It’s been a strong first half of the year for Saatchi & Saatchi. The company has triumphed with a series of new business wins for Churchill, Siemens and BT Sport, a partnership with Channel 4 to unearth and showcase the next generation of British creative talent at Cannes Lions, as well as notable hires including chief production officer Jess Ringshall, managing partner Alicia Iveson and strategy partner Olivia Stubbings.
