Saatchi & Saaatchi New Directors' Showcase 2015 Opens for Entries

Entries are now open for the New Directors' Showcase 2015.  The deadline for all entries is Friday 20th March 2015.  You can download full details of how to enter, along with the eligibility criteria here.  

Now in its 25th year, the legendary Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors’ Showcase has become one of the genuine highlights of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.  The Showcase features the very best new directing talent from around the world.  The Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide Creative Board makes the final selection, and last year 18 directors made the cut.  The New Directors’ Showcase will take place on Thursday 25th June 2015, in The Grand Auditorium, Palais des Festivals, Cannes.  For your chance to join the NDS directors’ Hall of Fame check out the entry guidelines below.

Eligibility

The Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors' Showcase is open to directors of all film formats and styles.

However, please note that directors are not eligible for consideration if they directed any film ‘specifically made for advertising purposes' before June 2013. They may have directed all other formats for longer.

The term 'specifically made for advertising purposes' is defined as any moving image commissioned with either production or media funded by an advertiser.

By submitting their work, directors are confirming their eligibility.

Selection Process 

The Saatchi & Saatchi Network of 130 offices in 70 countries is responsible for finding the best new directors.

The heads of broadcast production and creative directors are constantly trawling for new talent.

Saatchi & Saatchi also has relationships with key internet sites to identify candidates.

Saatchi & Saatchi usually has some 500 directors to review as part of the selection process.

From all this material, a shortlist is compiled and the final selection for the reel is made by the Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide Creative Board.

Selection Criteria

The Worldwide Creative Board makes its decisions based on the following criteria:

· The ability of the director to execute an idea on screen

· An innovative technique or style

· Outstanding directorial skill

Submissions and Deadline

The NDS is free to enter.  There is no entry fee.
