VFX company OKAY STUDIO welcomes colourist Ruth Wardell to the growing team. Joining from Electric Theatre Collective, Ruth will add more fire power to the colour department, working alongside senior colourist Stef Colosi.
Ruth cut her teeth at post production company The Look before joining Electric Theatre Collective in 2015. Starting in their DMC department, she caught the attention of the colour department quickly and was promoted to colour Assist after only six months.
After winning Best Colourist at the Ibiza Music Video Awards 2018 for Q-Tip’s promo ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart (feat. Demi Lovato)’, Ruth continued to climb the ranks at Electric Theatre Collective, promoted to Colourist in 2019. Throughout her career, she has worked with an enviable list of brands including Nike, Gucci, and Adidas – as well as working regularly with directors such as Bradley & Pablo, Jess Kohl, and Hector Dockrill. In addition to her commercial work, Ruth’s portfolio also includes music videos for Sam Smith, Mabel, and Jorja Smith.
Ruth Wardell comments: “I’m really looking forward to joining the team at OKAY STUDIO – I’m a big fan of the company ethos and approach. OKAY are an ambitious team, consistently creating bigger and better work and I’m excited to be a part of this wonderful team.”
OKAY STUDIO co-founder Nikolaj Belzer adds: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Ruth at OKAY STUDIO and are excited to help her continue to grow her reputation as one of the most talented colourists around. Her decision to join OKAY highlights the increasing profile of the work we do here and we can’t wait to have her drive and infectious enthusiasm contribute to our team in East London. We couldn’t think of a better way to start the new school year!”
