With his new film, RSA Photographic’s Gray Hughes asks if you are not running towards then are you running from something instead? Gray, whose recent moving image work includes adverts for Reebok and Glamorgan, is known for his sporting portraits of stars including Jessica Ennis, Lewis Hamilton, Max Whitlock, and Bradley Wiggins.
Of the film Gray said: “The Sony Walkman and the Orwellian style verse are a throwback to a world divided by an Iron curtain. There is similarity with what’s going on in the world today. Imagining our 21st century “friendly” technology in the hands of a secret police is a chilling thought. We give away more information about ourselves than in any time in history. I hope the guardians of this information respect our privacy and freedom. It came at a heavy price. It’s worth protecting…”
