Royal Mail's Latest Ad Makes Sure We Don't Forget Our Identity When Moving House

Bin or keep? It’s something everyone asks themselves when moving house. Old clothes and meaningless mementos are just a few of the many possessions we’ve long since outgrown and we are then made to decide if we want to bring them along with us.

Now, Royal Mail has tasked M&C Saatchi with raising awareness of one very important possession that is all too often neglected when moving house: your identity. With all the stress that comes with moving, consumers often forget to redirect their mail – which contains important pieces of your identity.

Directed by Tom Greens, the ad sees a husband and wife deciding what to keep and what to throw away before they move, with objects ranging from cowboy boots and a dolphin adoption certificate to a recorder and acorn. The spot ends with the reminder that while people are preoccupied with packing away objects, post may be forgotten, with Royal Mail adding: Before you decide what to take, think about what you might be leaving behind.
