RKCR/Y&R has hired Tamsin Djaba as Strategy Partner as part of a realignment of the management structure at the agency.
Djaba joins the agency from Droga5 London where she worked as Strategy Director.
She will be responsible for leading strategy on key clients, including BBC and M&S, and diversifying the agency’s output.
RKCR/Y&R is reworking its agency structure under new CEO Jon Sharpe to give more autonomy to triumvirates of Managing Partners, Strategy Partners and Creative Partners who will collectively lead account portfolios.
Djaba will report to the agency’s CSO when the appointment has been confirmed and, in the interim, reports to Jon Sharpe.
Prior to Droga5, Djaba was Director of New Business Models at the Nike Foundation, working on an initiative to reposition teenage girls within rural African society and helping to shape groundbreaking new media platforms.
Before that, she spent ten years as Head of Innovation at Fallon London. She was an integral part of the team that created Cadbury’s Cannes Grand-Prix-winning "Gorilla" campaign and worked across BBC, Skoda, Sony and Orange (now EE).
Jon Sharpe, CEO said: “Tamsin has created some of the most innovative and cutting edge creative work in recent years. We have had a busy start to year bringing in new clients such as Premier League and Chanel and, with her impressive and diverse skill set, we look forward to Tamsin helping us build the businesses of both new and existing clients.”
Tamsin Djaba said: “I have always admired RKCR/Y&R and how it creates ideas that live at the very heart of British culture. Jon’s vision of creating culturally relevant ideas with clout and scale, as well as pushing the agency towards more diverse outcomes is something I am passionate about and can’t wait to contribute towards. “
