Born and raised in France, but now based in Montreal, Duverneix is a multidisciplinary artist who boasts a diverse body of work in music, photography, computer programming, animation and film. His talent has carried him across a number of different genres with a focus on innovative ways of creating film and experiences.
“Thibaut is, at the core, a true artist,” says Luc Frappier, Managing Director, Revolver Films. “He plays off technology to inspire innovative ways of creating stories that connect to you on a very human and emotional level. His overall body of work is reflective of the identity we set to create for Revolver, and with Thibaut's experience in interactive and installation it now allows us to further expand in these domains.”
In 2008 he co-founded Montreal-based creative studio Departement, taking on the duel roles of film and interactive director until 2014. Also in 2008, Duverneix lent his talents to the artistic directing of the Nine Inch Nails tour Lights in the Sky with Montreal-based new media and entertainment studio Moment Factory. His work has been featured at the Tribeca Film Festival, CFC, TIFF, Creators Project, among many other prestigious venues, and he’s garnered numerous Vimeo Staff Picks.
In 2012, Duverneix was named one of the New York Art Directors Club’s Young Guns, amongst the best creatives under 30 in the world. His current commercial film portfolio includes work for Couche-Tard, Astral Media, the Government of Quebec and the City of Montreal.
“We looked at his work and were blown away by not just the quality, but also the diversity of the work he has been creating,” adds Richard Cureton, Executive Producer, Revolver Films. “It was really as simple as that - we’re so happy to have him join us.”
Duverneix cut his teeth in France, graduating with an honours degree in fine arts, also earning a diploma in Digital Technologies in Design Art Practice.
“Revolver is the perfect fit and size for me, their heart is in the craft, they come from music and advertising and are dedicated to making great work focusing on creativity and innovation. We are in for a good run.” Says Duverneix.
