Research Shows Top 3 Success Factors For Pitching Creative Work

New research launched today reveals the key success factors when pitching creative work.  The research shows that over half (57%) of agency personnel involved in new business pitches considered the visualization of a concept to be a key success factor and a third of marketers say that lack of ability to visualize an idea is a reason for not awarding business to a creative agency. 53% of agency people chose chemistry with the client but only around a third of respondents (37%) chose strategy and insight. Price was selected as a key success factor by 39% of those questioned.

The report also showed that on average agencies are devoting almost £7,000 in non-billable studio time alone to the pitch process.

Saddington Baynes, the visual content and production strategy agency, commissioned the research to understand the key drivers to pitch success, after being asked increasingly often by creative agencies to help with visualizing concepts.  In response to this the agency is launching the Pitch Visuals service to help create compelling visuals for prospective clients.

The agency will use its studio of 25 world-class creatives, designers, developers and artists' to work directly with creative agencies during the pitch process to deliver visual content that will bring ideas and strategic thinking to life.

Chris Christodoulou, CEO, Saddington Baynes says: “We have been working with creative agencies on the production of visual content for years and we realized that we could put this expertise to good use in concept development at pitch stage. When you consider that 90% of all communication is visual** it’s clear that the better the visual representation of an idea the more it will impact emotionally. Pitch Visuals is a service we hope will add considerable value to our creative agency and in-house team partners.”

Mark Bainbridge, former Brand Director at the British Army, RBS and Emap said: “I have been on the receiving end of Saddington Baynes Pitch Visuals service on a number of occasions and buy every time – put simply nothing beats visualizing the creative quality of the end results, right at the outset”.

The Pitch Visuals service can be used for developing concepts in the form of digital content, design and animation or still and is priced according to the level of service required.
