Reebok has partnered with Gay Times for ‘My Time, My Legacy, My Hometown’, a campaign that platforms emerging talent from the LGBTQ+ community and explores queer experiences outside of London.
Commissioning three creative youths, ‘My Time, My Legacy, My Hometown’ brings together untold queer stories and opportunities for young people in cities and towns across the UK, offering them fully-funded internships with Gay Times and subsequently a platform to tell their story.
The campaign’s output will underpin Reebok’s ongoing #WriteYourLegacy campaign, an initiative that celebrates the Classic Leather Legacy and Club C Legacy silhouettes. However, this time the trainer brand has focused ‘#WriteYourLegacy to an LGBTQ+ core audience to give them a chance tell the legacy of their hometown and ultimately forge one of their own.
By partnering with Reebok, Gay Times has offered three creative placements within their outlet, launching in June 2021 via a video series that will spotlight three creatives: Glasgow-based Huss, a performance and visual artist; Edinburgh-based Jude Thomas, a creative filmmaker and skater; and Cambridge-based Mishti Ali, a journalist.
The collaboration will offer the three creatives a platform upon which to tell their authentic story while providing tangible opportunities within the creative industry. Their compelling content aims to inspire the next cohort of legacy makers.
Content will be available throughout June on www.gaytimes.co.uk.
