Recom Farmhouse & 'Moody and Farrell' Collab
Recom Farmhouse is very pleased to have fused together the energy of two very creative people: milliner Eloise Moody and surrealist image maker Madame Peripetie.
The company has known Eloise for over 5 years when she first moved to Mentmore Studios: a place where businesses like ours share the building with graphic designers, architects, illustrators and lots of other creatives in Hackney. Eloise, whose label 'Moody and Farrell' has been increasingly growing in the last years both commercially and in the film industry (her hats feature in Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland' and the BBC is also a regular client), was looking for a photographer to shoot her new collection. Madame Peripetie, who we has collaborated with Recom Farmhouse in a number of projects in the past, is constantly on the lookout for outstanding designers to collaborate with. Christoph Bolten, the creative director, introduced them to each other. It was love at first sight and together they produced a simple yet amazing set of 12 images, which will hopefully be just the start of a long creative collaboration!
The photographs were retouched by the New York team who enjoyed working on the images with an open brief. They tried different moods until they created this distinctive and sophisticated look for the collection. They added a much darker tonality to the background whilst focussing the light much more on the hats, creating an altogether moodier atmosphere. The monochromatic wavelength of the red laser has also created a beautiful effect on the skin which appears to glow as if from within.
