Radio LBB: Carnival After Party

It’s the lead up to a particular bank holiday weekend which usually marks the end of summer in London and a two-day event that we all look forward to. Notting Hill Carnival’s absence has certainly left a hole in our yearly calendar. As a Londoner, it’s always been something to look forward to, one final summer party as we phase into the autumnal months ahead.

From its protest roots to the packed-out street parties and sound systems, Carnival is an integral part of London’s history and celebration of West-Indian culture. It’s an event that welcomes everyone and means some different to everyone. For me, it reminds me of meeting up with friends, drinking, eating, dancing, getting lost in the crowds, finding your friends and heading on to whatever’s next.
