We’ve all been in need of a bit of escapism from this particularly challenging past year, and here at Wise Music we have found exactly this in the beautiful music of our contemporary classical composers. From strings to piano, choir to horns, we’ve got it all and it’s been the soundtrack keeping us sane throughout a turbulent 12 months.
Our ‘Calm Amongst The Chaos’ playlist combines the most soothing releases from our media composers as well as works written specifically for projects. Enjoy the likes of ‘Golden Butterflies’ from the incredible Ludovico Einaudi whose music makes up the score to Golden Globe nominated ‘Nomadland’; Peter Gregson’s ‘Sequence (four)’ used this week in Burberry’s Men’s A/W Presentation; and ‘Sunday’s Child’ by Paddy Mulcahy featured in the Air Lingus ad.
If new music’s your thing, here are some lesser known names in this playlist to keep an eye on over the next 12 months. Eydís Evensen, an Icelandic born composer, recently selected by The Line Of Best Fit as one of their ‘Artists On The Rise 2021’; Hania Rani, a Polish pianist who’s most recent album Home received global rave reviews; and Hugar, a post classical, multi-instrumentalist duo, who were recently nominated for a HARPA award for their film score of The Vasulka Effect.
Enjoy!
