Radio LBB: A Car Journey Into the Multiverse

The Music Lab are sonic specialists in the crafting of original music compositions - creating music for advertising, television, film and video games. Based in London and LA, the award-winning team combines experience with experiment, fusing visuals with custom made music and sound. 

Neal Coglhan is their very own music technologist, specialising in live visual design, virtual reality and experiential pieces for Google, Glastonbury and the Royal Academy of Art. Here he has taken 5 with Radio LBB to share a playlist.

Looking for new ways of escapism?

The unique position I’ve been in with my career over the last decade has allowed me to see, first hand, the shift in entertainment to an evermore virtual realm.

This mix is therefore a tribute to what was created on earth. Nostalgia for the '70s and '80s - a time pre-dating the virtual technologies shaping many of our contemporary experiences - is, perhaps ironically, somewhere I like to escape to. It's something to look back on and enjoy, to be reassured that there is some good stuff on this planet worth saving - before we all upload ourselves to hard drives and stop being able to smell the roses.
